Progressive Coaching


Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand what coaching is, as distinct from other types of one-on-one relationships (eg mentoring/ counselling)
  •   Understand the two types of coaching managers do: workplace coaching on a particular skill and coaching when someone has a problem/issue
  • Identify when coaching is useful and constructive
  • Understand the basic principles of learning, and how to apply these in coaching
  • Be able to coach skilfully, using a disciplined process

  • When is coaching useful and constructive?
  • Workplace Skill Coaching and Coaching on an Issue
  • How do people learn? (Basic principles of learning)
  • Skills, tools and processes for effective coaching
